Within the framework of the Experience Sharing Program for Turkic States' Cultural Site Managers, a scientific and practical seminar was held in Istanbul, Türkiye.
At the first session of the seminar, the participants talked about the methods of applying the protection of cultural heritage in their countries, sources and legislation in this area. Possible projects and programs related to cultural heritage were also discussed in order to strengthen coordination between institutions and countries, develop common legislation and conduct educational work.
At the second session, participants representing Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, Hungary, and Turkmenistan made an informative presentation on the work of relevant structures for the protection of cultural heritage across their country. This meeting was attended by representatives of the host country, the Turkish Administration of the historical region of Gallipoli of the Dardanelles Wars.
Speakers at the "Cultural Heritage and Protection in the Turkic World" panel, which was held in the next part of the event, Professor Zeynep Gül Ünal from Yildiz Technical University of Türkiye, Professor James K. Reap and Professor Soumyen Bandyopadhyay from the University of Liverpool presented their reports.
Experience Sharing Program for Turkic States' Cultural Site Managers, implemented on the initiative of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation on September 23-27, 2024, ended with closing speeches by the President of the Foundation Aktoty Raimkulova, Director of IICAS Evren Rutbil and Chairman of the Expert Council of Istanbul Commercial University İsrafil Kuralay. Then certificates were issued to the participants of the Program.
Within the framework of the Experience Sharing Program, which includes holding various events and interaction between administrators of the cultural heritage of the Turkic world, the foundations were laid for new cooperation, which will further contribute to the implementation of new projects and research.
