President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Aktoty Raimkulova attended the international conference "Ancient Culture of Anau" as part of the opening ceremony "Anau - the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World – 2024".  

The conference was organized by the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan, TURKSOY, the Turkic Academy and the Turkic Culture and HeritageFoundation.

At the beginning of the conference in the Akhal region of Anau, in front of the House of Culture, the participants were presented with programs reflecting the history and culture of Turkmenistan. After dance, musical and monologue performances, an examination of the samples of Turkmen handicrafts demonstrated at various stands was carried out.

Then the conference participants visited the museum located in the House of Culture and familiarized with the archaeological artifacts found in Turkmenistan.

Opening the conference, Secretary General of TURKSOY Sultan Raev underlined that ancient Turkmenistan and its Anau city occupy an important place in the history and culture of the Turkic world. He noted that the Anau city, which has an important geographical place, located on the historical Silk Road, is one of the cradles of world civilization.

The event was also attended by the Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Turkic States (TURKPA) Mehmet Sureyya Er, President of the Turkic Academy Shahin Mustafayev and President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Aktoty Raimkulova.

     Speaking at the conference, President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Aktoty Raimkulova expressed her congratulations to the Government of Turkmenistan on the announcement of the city of Anau as the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World for 2024 and the holding of colorful events in this context. She highly appreciated the meeting of the Turkic countries in the city of Anau, which has a rich cultural and historical heritage, as a manifestation of joint commitment to the protection, preservation and promotion of the culture of the Turkic states.

Touching upon the threats that arise against the factor of cultural heritage in a globalizing world, the president of the Foundation highlihgted the importance of passing on the common values of the Turkic countries from generation to generation. Aktoty Raimkulova spoke about the work carried out by the Foundation in the field of protection and restoration of the material and spiritual heritage of the Turkic peoples, and about the planned projects of the organization. 

The president of the Foundation noted the significance of interaction and joint efforts of Turkic Cooperation Organizations in the direction of further strengthening the integration and solidarity of the Turkic world.
